Default Rekluse questions?

Ok I started installing a Zstart Pro in my YZ250 last night. I have a couple of lame questions.

Question1:
What setup are you two stroke guys running? I went with medium/hard(black 200 spring, small red spring 27 balls), but I am thinking medium/soft may be better. Any tips?

Question 2:
Clutch lever free play adjustment. Instructions say 1/2" freeplay on the lever before significant tension is felt with one finger. This one has me confused. I understand what free play is & how to adjust it. my issue is there is no lever feel all the way to the bar. Its always been an easily pulled lever. Honestly it feels almost like the cable isnt hooked up, but it is. With the clutch cover off and the ignition cover off, I can pull the lever, everything moves the way its suppose too. You can see the throw outbearing moving in the center of the hole in the pressure plate on the rekluse. The lever tension is just super light through the entire pull. Did I screw somethign up?

I havent started it yet because I wanted to visually inspect everything. The free play just has me puzzled. Why do I have ZERO clutch feel?

How much lever feel does your Zstart pro have?

FWIW-New clutch cable, new basket, new fibers.

Thanks for any info
Jeremy

Thats the way the clutch lever is supposed to feel. You should be fine. start with the medium spring and all the balls usually.

thanks for the info. I knew the lever would feel lighter, i guess I expected a little resistance.

first off your worrying me , you rode well before but with a auto clutch you might be unbeatable , congrats on the smartest move you have thought of in your riding career ,

1 yes the clutch is a lot lighter , and yes it appears that there isnt clutch . looser is safer than a clutch to tight , to tight will stretch your cable , adjust your cable so that you have very little resistance when you pull the clutch all the way in , this will let you know that the clutch is disengaging properly ,

also engagement spring setup: i use med/hard as you stated u installed , the other spring is for a slower more technical riding .

lever adjustment : 1/2" free play means when you first start to squeeze the lever , you should be able to go 1/2" before the clutch disengages , this is while your bike is in gear and idling , also idling adjustment matters for the amount of stalling that could accure .

Thanks for the info Sly.

You must have me confused with one of the fast WV guys Im not fast at all, you are probably thinking of Gary on the red & blue YZ & yes he has a Rekluse.

Im the slow wv in the back waving as you lap me over & over so I hope the Rekluse helps me speed up a lot.

I did the break in sequence Saturday and rechecked the gap clearance which was fine, then changed the oil. The clutch is awesome and makes the YZ feel even more like a mountain bike.
